Main Street Waterbury’s Promotion Committee plays an integral role in assisting downtown merchants and local organizations by supporting and promoting their events, as well as our own.

A few notable accomplishments of the Promotion Committee include the MSW Wall Calendar, now in its 11th year of publication. This Waterbury themed calendar shows many seasonal scenes as well as highlighting downtown’s historic architecture.

The calendar is on sale each November through December, making it a great gift during the holiday season. To keep up with downtown nightlife activities, the website is continually updated with the latest events and promotions of downtown bars, clubs and restaurants.

Most notably is our award-winning Tastefully Waterbury Downtown Restaurant Guide. If you are staying downtown after work, going to a show at the Palace Theater, or attending one of the many weekend events, be sure to check out this Restaurant Guide for all of your dining and entertainment options.

In the guide you’ll find a selection of restaurants from elegant cuisine, casually dining, ethnic fare, lunchtime eateries or to grab a quick cup of coffee.

The bar scene is hopping as well with numerous establishments that provide not only a great selection of craft beers but also your favorite signature cocktails.

The restaurant guide is distributed to all the downtown merchants and offices. If you would like a copy, stop by the Main Street office at 83 Bank Street.

MSW’s summer time concert series is held every Thursday in the summer from 12:30 to 2pm. Stop down to the Green to listen to music from the area’s top musicians.

These musical groups are here for your listening pleasure and sponsored by the generosity of TD Bank.

The Pole Banner Program has been re-energized with a new design and new bright and exciting colors. There is also room for area merchants, businesses and organizations to purchase sponsorships for the banners. If you would like to promote your business and want to sponsor a banner, please contact the Main Street Waterbury office at 203.757.0701 ext. 302 or

If any of these projects interest you or you have ideas for new ones, we invite you to join our committee. We meet every 3rd Wednesday of the month at the Waterbury Regional Chamber at 4:30pm.

The Promotion Committee is committed to making Downtown Waterbury a better place to work and play, and yes even live.
