Brew Fest gets new name and new look!

As the craft beer industry continues to grow, evolve and change, it is necessary for the Brass City Brew Fest to do so as well. For twelve years BCBF has led the way in how brew fests are produced, presented and managed. The focus has always been on craft beer, how it’s produced, and the great variety offered.

Fans of the BCBF have been loyal and steady as pilgrimages from Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire and just about all of New England and Connecticut continue to make their way to our event year after year. But let’s face it, there are many brew fests to choose from just as there are many craft beer tasting rooms to hang out at on a Saturday afternoon. Thus, there are many more choices for craft beer lovers. That’s the good news. The challenging news is that audiences are being torn between their loyalty for attending the tried and true standard like BCBF or trying something new. In addition, distributors, craft beer vendors, and brewers are being pulled in many directions with requests to do a multitude of brew fests throughout the year. They are challenged with limited personnel that can’t be everywhere at once despite their best efforts.

They have to choose where they’ll get the greatest exposure to market their products.

Fortunately for BCBF, most are still represented at our event. However, we’re reading the handwriting on the wall and have decided to take BCBF to the next level.

We decided that what’s needed is an exciting new look, some dynamic additions, and a new name.

First let me state the most exciting news! We’re bringing barbecue to the Brew Fest. That’s right, for those that follow barbecue pit master competitions and the barbecue industry in general, we think pairing that with the exiting world of craft beers is a marriage made in heaven.

Barbecue pit master Kevin Egan of Waterbury is spear-heading this effort that will feature competitors and barbecue related food vendors. Kevin states, “This is an exciting time for Waterbury as we see the bbq explosion continue to migrate from traditional southern regions in our country up to us here in the northeast, and we could not be more pleased to have the Brew Fest as one of the first events in our area to celebrate the art & science of the bbq phenomenon.”

With that said, we want the name of the event to reflect this new pairing. Are you ready? We are excited to announce our new name as THE BRASS CITY BREW & ‘QUE!!

That’s right, the BCB&Q will be held on Saturday September 8, 2018 at Library Park in downtown Waterbury. It will feature the same fantastic line-up of craft beers, a VIP session, pit master competitions, craft beer and barbecue seminars, home brewers competition, great music, corn hole, barbecue food venders, great cigars and much more. Stay tuned in the coming weeks for more exciting details.

Tickets go on sale July 1st. Don’t forget to tell your friends about the Brass City Brew & ‘Que!
