Welcome to the 2019 edition of Manufacturing Today … Greater Waterbury’s 21st Century Manufacturing Resource Guide!

This is the ninth year the Waterbury Regional Chamber’s Manufacturing Council and the Republican-American have produced this special annual supplement to raise awareness of and educate the public about manufacturing. We’re proud to help readers learn more about our region’s manufacturing industry. Hundreds of manufacturers in Greater Waterbury are thriving and employ thousands of people.

On the pages that follow you will discover that the manufacturing industry in Greater Waterbury is incredibly diverse. You will meet some familiar companies, including Demsey Manufacturing in Watertown and Fascia’s Chocolates in Waterbury, and some firms you may not be aware of, such as Porter Preston and G&R Manufacturing. You will also learn what’s new with Naugatuck Valley Community College’s Advanced Manufacturing program, and about the ongoing efforts of the Northwest Regional Workforce Investment Board (NRWIB), the Manufacturing Alliance Service Corp. (MASC), and the Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology (CCAT).

The Manufacturing Council thanks our partners in this publication, The Smaller Manufacturers Association of Connecticut, CCAT, and the Republican-American, for their commitment to supporting manufacturing. We recognize the need to educate the community about manufacturing in the 21st Century to help address the lack of young people interested in the industry, which continues to grow and provide outstanding career opportunities.

Included in this publication are lists of the manufacturing members of the Waterbury Regional Chamber and the SMA. Many of these companies have been Chamber members for decades, as well as long-term SMA members. They are an important part of our community’s history and continue to play a major role in the economic vitality of Greater Waterbury.

On behalf of the Waterbury Regional Chamber and the SMA, we extend our gratitude to the Republican-American and our contributing writers for their efforts. Finally, we’re also grateful to our advertisers, who make Manufacturing Today possible.
